The tickets you purchase are reserved under the General Quota.
Indian Railways offers 12 different types of quotas for ticket reservations, such as General, Ladies, Tatkal, Senior Citizens, etc. When booking begins (Advanced Reservation Period), which is 120 days before the train departs, only 50% of seats are released for the general public. The remaining seats are allotted to different quotas, and only eligible passengers of certain quotas are allowed to reserve seats in those.
We advise caution when purchasing tickets at the station. Beware of potential scammers offering tickets outside of the official channels. To ensure a safe and legitimate booking, please only contact official Indian Railways counters for your reservation.
